Introducing the new, eagerly awaited FiiO Kunlun E18 Portable Headphone Amplifier & DAC. In true FiiO fashion, this portable headphone amp and DAC is sleek and lightweight. It is made of black brushed aluminium alloy and is in keeping with the FiiO range. This is the first FiiO headphone amplifier that has specifically been made to work with Android phones as well as the Apple brand, therefore adding to the amount of devices that you can use it with.
On one end of the E18, the volume knob doubles as the on/off switch and a 3.5mm input which doubles as a line out for the DAC function. On the same end you will find the GAIN switch, bass boost and your control switches (Play/Pause and Next/Forward, Previous/Back functions). On the bottom end of the E18 you will find the S/PDIF output and the Micro USB port for charging.
The E18 can be used as a headphone amplifier or a USB DAC. It can also be used as a power source to charge your smartphone. This however cannot be at the same time. It is important that the E18 is not connected to a PC port when you are using this as a power source as this can lead to damage.
The battery Life on the E18 is longer than any of the FiiO products so far and the battery charge time is 4 hours if left to charge on its own. The FiiO E18 contains a high quality hardware combination, and contains the Te7022, PCM1798, OAP1642, LMH6643 chips.
You may be listening to music from many sources, such as computers, mobile phones and DAPs, and looking for improved sound quality out of all of them. The E18 can satisfy your hi-fidelity headphone audio needs from any source. The user-friendly symmetrical volume roller is resistant to accidental bumps yet easy to adjust.
Professional USB DAC+AMP function lets you enjoy higher quality music out of all computers. The E18 supports USB audio decoding out of computers at up to 96kHz/24bit.
All-new headphone amp tuning and longer run-time: the E18 can function as outboard headphone amp for mobile music enjoyment with any source, including all Androids, iDevices and DAPs.
The E18 can work with smartphones with USB OTG function. Connected via Micro USB OTG cable, the E18 would first decode the music stream, then amplify it and can even remotely control the playback of songs on the phone. (See supported models here).
The E18 can also act as a mobile power source, so you don’t need to worry about your smartphone running out of juice while you’re listening to music. It comes with a 3,500mAh high-capacity, high-current Li-polymer battery with option to output power to charge your smartphone.
